## What it adds

Raptor writeback and workflows help Qlik teams move from insight to governed action. Approved users can capture updates, decisions, comments, scenarios, planning changes, and approval outcomes from Qlik while the gateway controls the operational path behind the scenes.

The goal is not to turn every dashboard into a data-entry screen. It is to support the specific moments where users need to act on trusted analytics and leave a clear evidence trail.

- Capture edits, notes, approvals, rejections, escalations, scenarios, and planning changes from Qlik.
- Use gateway-managed database targets instead of giving users direct database credentials.
- Bring submitted records back into Qlik through partial or full reload patterns.
- Keep an audit trail of actor, action, source context, submitted values, workflow state, and delivery outcome.

## Typical use cases

Writeback is most useful when the action belongs close to the analysis: a planner updates a forecast, a manager approves a budget, an account owner updates a customer profile, or a reviewer records a decision against a high-risk item.

- Editable tables for controlled business updates.
- Approval workflows with notes, decisions, escalation, and sign-off tracking.
- Budgeting and planning submissions based on prior actuals, forecasts, and targets.
- What-if and scenario planning with saved alternatives for review.

## Admin governance

Administrators decide which databases, schemas, tables, actions, workflows, users, and reload patterns are allowed. This keeps writeback aligned with the customer's security and operational model.

The admin experience is designed to support both new gateway-managed tables and existing tables that the customer wants to bring under controlled writeback governance.

- Configure approved writeback targets and allowed schemas.
- Choose whether tables are gateway-managed, admin-selected, or a mix of both.
- Manage approved actions, workflow definitions, monitoring rules, and escalation behavior.
- Use role or custom-property mapping so only authorized users can act.
- Review migrations, compatibility notes, blocked changes, rollback notes, and execution history before production use.

## Workflow notifications

Workflow actions can be connected to InsightOps channels so the right people know when something needs review, approval, escalation, or follow-up.

This helps Qlik become part of the operating rhythm: users can see the business context, make a governed decision, notify the next owner, and keep the record available for audit.

- Send workflow notifications through approved channels such as Teams, Slack, email, Telegram, or webhooks.
- Track who needs to sign off, who has acted, and which items are overdue or escalated.
- Use escalation rules and schedules to avoid silent bottlenecks.
- Keep delivery evidence and workflow state visible for operational review.

## Agent-ready operations

Where licensed, agents can help create, inspect, operate, and manage writeback-enabled experiences through the gateway. This gives teams a controlled way to speed up delivery without bypassing governance.

Agents still work inside the access model: they use approved gateway capabilities, the Qlik permissions available to the connected identity, and the writeback targets configured by administrators.

- Generate or update governed writeback and workflow extensions.
- Inspect approved actions, targets, workflow definitions, and recent executions.
- Support reload, validation, and audit checks after writeback actions.
- Keep sensitive database credentials and internal gateway configuration out of user prompts and client-side extensions.
